This is a pair of vintage 1960s unused mens pure silk socks still held together by a cardboard header. The socks were made in Switzerland by Oscar Rohrer under the “Trefle” brand name. They are made in black. The legs of the socks measure 14” in height from the bottom of the heel, with a 10 3/4” foot unstretched. They have a reinforced heel, top and toe, those parts being a little thicker and in a different tone than the body of the sock.
Stamp: Henry Marks Ltd. Mount Royal Hotel Montreal. Henry Marks dates to 1966 as does the registration of the Trefle brand name, so this pair of socks most likely date to the latter part of the 60s.
They are in excellent condition because they weren’t used and were well stored over the years.
This is a great pair of socks - you don’t often see pure silk socks of this age, especially Swiss quality ones!
