1960s Vintage Pea Coat Window Pane Check Wool Blend Jacket

$195.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This 1960s vintage pea coat came with a small lot of deadstock that I recently acquired - I’m unsure if this coat was used, but the original price ticket was in the pocket (see last close-up photo).  This vintage pea coat features navy blue window pane checking against a grey background.  It has a collar and lapels typical of a pea coat and has a three button front.  There is a button under the right collar, so that you can close the neckline by buttoning the left lapel over to the right.  There is a vertical jetted pocket at either upper front side and a flapped patch pocket at either lower side.  The interior of this vintage pea coat has a filled quilt lining.

Label:  Paris Sportswear Ltd. Made in Canada

Content label:  Shell:  75% Wool 20% Viscose Fibre 5%.  Quilt Lining: 100% Acetate Interior fill: 40% Wool 60% Fibre

Sizing: Size 38 is indicated on the label, and although this vintage pea coat should fit a medium size, it may be a tad smaller, so please rely on the following measurements for fit, comparing them to another coat and taking into consideration the thickness of the wool:

Shoulders: 18” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2”

Chest: 40” around, taken under the arms, 20” across pit-to-pit

Waist: 38”

Overall length: 32 1/2“, taken at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This vintage pea coat is in very good condition as I don’t think that it was used, or if it was, saw very little use.  The lining is discoloured in places at the bottom, but otherwise, the coat has no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.

The fabric on this vintage pea coat is fairly thick, and with the quilted lining, meant to supply warmth in cold climates.

Fabulous window pane check on this vintage pea coat - contemporary look with superior vintage quality and style!
