Authentic Vintage Safari Suit Clothes Made in Kenya Unused Jacket Pants Size M

$135.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage set of authentic Safari clothes made in Kenya.  The set consists of a jacket and pants, but each is convertible, respectively, into a vest and pair of shorts, by undoing a nylon zipper.  The jacket has a number of pockets, some with snap down top flaps, some with mesh fronts and some with zippers.  There is even a large pocket built onto the back.  It has three mesh vents down the back, reinforced shoulders and snap down cuffs on the sleeves.  It has an elasticized waist, does up with a nylon zipper down the front and is unlined.  The pants also have a number of pockets.  I found two patches in one of the pockets, one for the East African Wild Life Society and the other for the Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara.

Retailer’s label: Jamboree Boutique 100% Cotton Safari Clothes Muindi Mbingu Street Opp City Market NBI Made in Kenya

Sizing: Size XXL is indicated on the label but the pants are tagged as a size 36 and the jacket actually fits as a large medium or smaller large - I think that the jacket is about a US size 40/42 depending on how loose you might need this to be.

Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the style of the piece into consideration):

Jacket:

Shoulders: 19 1/2” across the vest shoulders

Sleeves: 24 1/2” from vest shoulder

Sleeve Inseam: 18 1/2” long

Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 42” around

Overall length: 29", measured flat

Pants:

Waist: 36”, uncinched by a belt

Leg Inseam: 31” long

Overall length: 42“

Condition: This set is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors - there is a blackish mark on the left leg on the shorts, but this probably happened during storage and almost certainly would come out with a cleaning, very minor in any case.  Otherwise, I’m fairly certain that these were never used - probably purchased for a safari that didn’t happen.

An authentic safari suit like this is rarely seen in this hemisphere - great acquisition if you’re planning a trip to Africa or fun pieces to wear as separates!
