Vintage 1980s Tweed Wool Coat by Miss Style Ladies Size XL Tall

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is an early 80s era ladies’ tweed wool coat made in a striking black and grey “ombré” pattern.  The coat is made with a high rounded collar with tab and button closure, padded shoulders, full “blouson” type sleeves, five button front closure, slant flapped side pockets, belted cuffs, flap over the upper back and a single long kick vent at the back.  The coat is cut with a flare to the hemline.  The interior is fully lined in black satin triacetate with a cotton interlining.

Label: Miss Style

Union label:  ILGWU - International Ladies Garment Workers Union, this Canadian version used between 1968 and 1984

Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit an XL tall, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric and the loose-fitting style of the coat into account:

Sleeves:  32” from the neck seam

Sleeve Inseam:  19”

Bust: 54” around

Waist: 54” around

Hips:  56” around

Length: 53”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no tears, stains, odors or pronounced wear.  This coat looks to have seen little use and was well cared for over the years.

This is a nice example of early 80s fashion - great coat if it fits!
