1960s Vintage Capri Pants - Aqua Blue and Silver Metallic Lame - Paris

This is a fabulous pair of capri pants, made by Paris designer Jacques Maraut. The pants are made of an aqua blue and silver lame (lamé) fabric. They have tapered legs that are notched at the bottom, very much like Capri pants, but longer. You can almost picture a 1950s bombshell girl in these - Jayne Mansfield comes to mind.
Label: Jacques Maraut Paris 175 Bd Pereire. Jacques Maraut designed and marketed mostly sports wear - ski wear, swim and beach wear and hiking wear. I've been able to find old advertisements dating to the 1940s and 50s and I found evidence that they were in business as late as 1970.
Material: Metallic lame, blue with silver metallic thread woven throughout.
Color: Aqua blue and silver
Size: The size label reads "38", which is a French size that I believe is equivalent to a US size 6. Being a vintage size, please rely on the following measurements for fit taking the style of the pants into account:
Waist: 26" around
Leg Inseam: 28" long
Length: 39", measured lying flat
They are in very good condition with no stains, wear or tear. It does appear, however, that the buttons were moved over to enlarge the waist size, so there is a small gap at the top of the zipper. Otherwise, this pair of pants looks to have seen little, if any, use and was well cared for over the years.
This is a rare pair of pants, seldom seen - great color and fabric and wonderful period styling by a Parisian maker.
Great pants for VLV or you rockabilly gals!
