This is vintage two toned green (a little to the turquoise) and lilac woven fabric, unused in a bolt that measures about 53” in width. I am selling the fabric by the yard and I have presently about 20 yards available. The price is $12 per yard. The fabric has a repeating lilac floral motif woven into the green coloured base - the top side has a satin finish while the underside is a matte weave and has more of the lilac colour apparent. The top side does have a bit of the lilac colour apparent when “tilting” the fabric, but green colour is prevalent. The underside, however, has more of a “sharkskin” appearance to it. This fabric was acquired from the liquidation of an old fur business, so obviously had been used to line fur coats or hats. Judging by its appearance, I believe that this fabric dates to the 1950s. I took a piece from the roll to perform a burn test and what I witnessed was a quick, full burn of the fabric, grey smoke, and the residue was a hard black bead. That leads me to think that this is a blend of rayon and acetate fabric, often used in combination to produce sharkskin type fabric.
This is very nice quality fabric in a lovely two toned colour - wonderful if you need to re-line a fur coat, or perhaps could be used to make other items from scarves to pillows or anything that you can think of!
