This is a vintage Hudsons Bay blanket made in light gold with darker gold stripes.  It is a 4 point blanket. 

Age: 1973-1984

Label: Bilingual with the English reading “Made in England Hudson's Bay Point Blanket The Seal of Quality 100% Wool CA00234 with US and Canadian registration numbers and the Hudson’s Bay coat-of-arms. Condition: This vintage Hudsons Bay blanket is in excellent condition, clean with original nappe (finish).

Material: 100% Wool

Sizing: 78” by 90”.  The standard for a 4 point vintage Hudsons Bay blanket is 72” by 90” with a weight of 6 lbs.  Collectors always look for blankets that meet or exceed the standard size as shrinkage occurs with laundering.  This blanket weighs 5 lbs. and 15 oz. - the standard weight is 6 lbs, so this indicates basically no loss of wool nappe.  This blanket looks unused.

This is a very nice vintage Hudsons Bay blanket - the older blankets are of better quality than what they produce today.
