Vintage Mexican Embroidery Souvenir Jacket Red Wool Ladies Size M / L

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This product is unavailable

This is a wonderful Mexican tourist / souvenir jacket made in red wool with wool embroidery featuring motifs commonly associated with Mexico.  These were popular with visitors to Mexico during the 1940s and 50s - I’m unsure if this one dates to the 50s or just a little later.  This jacket is crewel stitch embroidered with a man walking behind a burro, a house, rugs, horse shoes, sombreros etc.  The jacket has a pocket applied to either side and is unlined.  It has no closures.

Age: 1950s - 1960s

Label: No label

Color: Red with multicolored embroidery

Fabric:  Wool in a light weight

Sizing: No size is indicated, but the jacket should fit a medium to large size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the wool into consideration:

Shoulders:  19” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  23” long

Sleeve Inseam:  16” long

Chest:  41” around, taken under the arms, with a 1” gap at the opening

It is in very good condition with no tear, holes, stains, odors or wear.  This jacket was well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a very cute 50s period Mexican tourist jacket in an attractive color -sure to be noticed....
