This is a sweater vest made of wool in a ribbed cable pattern by Celine Paris. It is made in a simple style with a longer silhouette and open neckline. It does up with 4 gold toned metal buttons down the lower front, each button stamped with “Celine Sport”. It has a small pocket at either lower side, accented with gold chains. The piece was made in Italy for Celine.
Label: Celine Paris. Celine was founded in 1945 by Celine Vipiana. They began as a maker of children’s shoes but expanded their line to ready-to-wear ladies’ clothing during the 1960s. Color: Off White
Material: 100% Nylon
Sizing: French size 38 is indicated, which should be equivalent to a US size 6 (small) - please note what measurements that I can provide:
Shoulders: 13” across
Bust: approximately 32” around, taken at the bottom of the arm opening, with a slight stretch, certainly can stretch larger
Waist: 27” around, unstretched
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, holes, stains or odors - there is only some wear to the thread finish to the bottom buttonhole, not at all noticeable when buttoned. Otherwise, this looks like it saw little use and was very well kept over the years.
This is a wonderful sweater vest - Celine has always produced excellent quality and this is an easy to wear piece that creates a Parisian look of sophisticated elegance!
