$95.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a wonderful 1940s era mens blue blazer jacket that was made by Canadian manufacturer Fashion Craft and sold by under their “Terrace Club Sportswear” brand name.  The fabric is made of navy blue wool.  It has padded shoulders, peaked lapels and closes with a single shell button, part of a four button double breasted configuration.  There are patch pockets applied at either side and to the left chest.  There are two shell buttons at either cuff and the back bottom has a 8” centre vent.   The jacket is half lined in a blue twill fabric.  It has a pocket built into the interior right and left sides.

Age: late 1940s

Label: Terrace Club Sportswear A Fashion Craft Origination.  Fashion Craft was a large Montreal based clothing manufacturer, notorious for having been involved, along with a number of other Montreal clothing manufacturers, in a labour dispute with the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America union during WWI.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium size, probably a US size 40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurements with a similar jacket that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders: 19 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 25” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 18”

Chest:  44” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  38” around

Overall length:  30”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.

This is a great looking vintage blue blazer with perfect 1940s styling - you can imagine it being worn with an ascot and white pants while on a yacht!

Chest:  45” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  39” around

Overall length:  32”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with the exception of a small fray at the back neck (see close-up photo).  This could be stitched or patched.  Otherwise, the blazer is free of pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.

This is a good looking vintage blue blazer, but the White Ensign crest and buttons would be of particular interest on this piece, nice collectibles!
