This is a 1940s mens tie, featuring a striking abstract design that looks like exploding rocks next to star-like shapes, very atomic era.  The tie is in colours of red and blue against white.  The back of the small blade has a label affixed to it that reads “The White House Men’s Shop San Francisco”.  The White House was the first department store in San Francisco, founded in 1854 and adopting the name The White House in 1870.  It is made of a faille silk fabric with an embossed circle pattern in it.  This 1940s mens tie is in very good condition - no noted stains, soiling or wear.  The tie measures 48 1/2” in length and has a width of 5 1/4” at its widest.  This is a striking 1940s mens tie in great shape - has an atomic era vibe to it!
