Vintage Baumler Cashmere Overcoat European Size 50

This is a pre-owned mens Baumler cashmere overcoat made in Canada under license to Baumler, which is a German manufacturer known for using quality fabrics.  This Baumler cashmere overcoat has a shirt type collar and does up with a visible button at the neck and four hidden buttons down the front.  The coat has slightly padded shoulders, diagonal side pockets and a button tab at each of the sleeve cuffs.  The coat is lined in a striped satin rayon fabric.  The fabric has a beautiful finish - very soft.    

Label: Baumler Men’s Fashion

Retail label:  Ogilvy Monsieur.  Ogilvy’s was a high end Montreal department store that is now owned by Holt Renfrew.  Ogilvy Monsieur is one of the boutiques in the store-within-a-store fashion department store concept

Content label:  100% cashmere / lining 100% acetate. Made in Canada CA00551, which is the Canadian Textile identification number of Cumberland Clothing of Toronto.  Cumberland has been in business at least since the 1950s as has Baumler.

Sizing: This Baumler cashmere overcoat is sized as a European size 50, which should fit a US size 40, but it may fit a slightly larger size.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of this Baumler cashmere overcoat and the thickness of the fabric into account as well as whether you may want to wear a suit jacket underneath:

Shoulders:  19 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves:  26” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  19”

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms 

Waist: 46” around

Hips: 46” around

Length: 40”, measured flat

Condition:  This Baumler cashmere overcoat is in excellent condition with no signs of wear, tear, stains or odour - really, I don’t think that this coat saw much use.
