This is an iconic Studio Line porcelain covered butter dish made by Rosenthal Germany in the Metropol pattern, a Memphis style design by Barbara Brenner. The piece is made in the Scenario shape, featuring geometric form. The dish measures 7 3/4 by 5 3/4. The underside is stamped Rosenthal Studio-linie Germany 6. Metropol was produced from 1990 until 1998. This covered butter dish is in excellent condition with no signs of use - in fact, I doubt that this was ever used. Wonderful display piece, highly sought after Memphis design inspired butter dish - superior Rosenthal quality!
