1980s Vintage Courreges Dress Red and Black Colorblock Size 40

This is a 1980s vintage Courreges dress made in France.  This Courreges dress is made in black with red bands around the hips, the upper arms and the sleeve ends.  Andre Courreges, of course, made his name during the 1960s, when he offered avant garde, space age influenced designs.  This Courreges dress is still cutting edge, with a 1980s design influence incorporated into its style.  The dress has a scoop neckline, dropped shoulders, and is made in a loose fitting relaxed style with an above the knee length.  There is vertical pocket incorporated into the sides of the red band on the body.  It does up with a zipper at the back and is fully lined in a black viscose satin.

Material: The content label is missing, but this appears to be a wool or wool blended jersey, certainly excellent quality as one would expect from Courreges

Sizing: French size 40 is indicated on this Courreges dress which should be equivalent to a US size 10 (medium), but please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  21” between the seams (black area) - note that due to the dropped shoulders, the seams fall on the upper arms

Sleeves:  30” from the mid-neck to the end of the sleeve

Bust:  44” around, taken under the arms, meant to be loose fitting

Waist:  44” around

Hips:  43” around

Hemline:  42” around

Length:  37”, measured flat

Condition: It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors.  This Courreges dress and jacket looks like it saw little use and was very well cared for over the years.
