This is a gorgeous quality vintage silk blouse with matching sweater made in Italy by Salvatore Ferragamo.  Ferragamo singlehandedly revolutionized the Italian shoe industry, establishing a workshop in Florence in 1927 after designing shoes in Hollywood for the movie industry.  Due to the reputation he made in Hollywood, he was able to establish a large American export business.  During the 70s, Ferragamo’s wife and daughter diversified into other fashion lines.

The silk on this set is printed with a lush floral pattern with birds prominently displayed amongst the flora.  The blouse is made of all silk in a shirt style.  The sweater is made in cardigan style in a combination of silk and wool.  The blouse closes with seven shell buttons, each impressed with the Ferragamo name.  The sweater closes with six brass buttons.  The print is signed "Salvatore Ferragamo" within the pattern.
