This is a vintage silk twill scarf signed Roberto Capucci. The label reads “Made in Italy for Eaton’s CA00010”. Eaton’s dropped the apostrophe in its name for Eatons in 1970 in Quebec where this scarf was found, which gives some clue to the scarf’s age, either late 1960s or very early 70s. Roberto Capucci, of course, is a legendary Italian fashion designer who opened his first atelier in 1950 and is known as the inventor of “Made in Italy”. The scarf features a geometric pattern, white and grey squares toned by black dots and black squares toned by white dots. There are black, white and gold brown “rails” vertically separating the squares at intervals. The pattern is framed within a gold brown coloured border. The edge is hand rolled.
Sizing: 26 1/2” square
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or soiling - this scarf looks like it saw little, if any, use, so is ready to wear.
This is a very nice quality silk scarf featuring a wonderful geometric pattern by an important Italian designer - wearable art!
