Vintage modernist necklace attributed to Pierre Cardin with gold tone PC pendant

Vintage Modernist Necklace Attributed to Pierre Cardin c. 1980 Gold Tone & White Enamel

$65.00

This vintage modernist necklace is attributed to Pierre Cardin, one of the twentieth century's most influential fashion designers, whose futuristic aesthetic helped define Space Age fashion during the 1960s through the 1980s.

The necklace features an elegant sculptural pendant incorporating the stylized "PC" monogram, finished in polished gold tone with a contrasting white enamel element. Suspended from a delicate textured chain, the pendant reflects the clean geometric forms and architectural styling for which Pierre Cardin became known.

Supporting the attribution is the original Pierre Cardin logo charm attached beside the spring-ring clasp. Although I have carefully examined the necklace, I have been unable to locate an impressed Pierre Cardin signature or copyright mark elsewhere on the piece. Nevertheless, the combination of the stylized "PC" monogram pendant, matching Pierre Cardin logo charm, and the distinctive modernist design suggests an association with Pierre Cardin's licensed jewellery production of the late twentieth century. For complete accuracy, this necklace is therefore being offered as attributed to Pierre Cardin rather than as a definitively signed example. Pierre Cardin jewellery was produced under numerous licensing arrangements over several decades, and marking practices varied between manufacturers.

Length laid straight: 16 1/4 inches

Condition

Very good condition with the exception of a tiny chip and fine hairline to the white enamel, visible upon close inspection. The gold-tone finish remains bright and attractive, and the necklace presents beautifully.

An elegant piece of vintage modernist jewellery with distinctive Space Age styling that will appeal to collectors of Pierre Cardin and late twentieth-century design. It is offered as attributed to Pierre Cardin rather than as a definitively authenticated example.
