This is a vintage Dunhill Lovat shell briar pipe, made in England in 1968. It has a fish tail saddle stem (F/T mouthpiece). The Group 3 is a comfortable medium size, well-suited for regular use.

The pipe has Dunhill’s signature Shell Briar sandblast finish, a dark, rugged texture.  The shank is stamped:

39 F/T (shape and mouthpiece)

DUNHILL SHELL BRIAR MADE IN ENGLAND 8 

3S (Group 3 size, Shell finish)

The stem retains the Dunhill white dot.

Condition: This vintage Dunhill Lovat shell briar pipe is in very good condition with expected light wear from use. No cracks, fills, or burnout - an excellent candidate for restoration.
