Vintage Chalvignac Vase – 1970s Canadian Studio Pottery with Lava Glaze

Vintage Chalvignac Vase – 1970s Canadian Studio Pottery with Lava Glaze

$150.00

This is a striking vintage Chalvignac ceramic vase, made in Canada and dating to the 1970s. Hand-finished (“fait à la main,” as indicated on the original label), the piece reflects the design aesthetic of mid-century Canadian studio pottery.

The vase features a cylindrical form with a gently flared neck and is decorated with geometric paneling in orange-red, cobalt blue, white and brown tones. These panels are separated by dark raised outlines, creating a structured, almost architectural grid across the surface.

The heavy lava-style glaze gives the vase a richly textured quality, with bubbling and pooling that adds depth and visual movement. The interior is fully glazed in a warm brown tone.

This Chalvignac vase works well as a decorative object in mid-century modern, brutalist, or contemporary interiors. Its height and strong surface treatment make it suitable as a floor vase or focal display piece.
