This is a very nice quality black leather “café racer” motorcycle jacket made during the 1960s by Brimaco. Brimaco was the brand name of the British Manufacturing Co. of Canada, a firm that is still highly regarded for the quality that they produced. The jacket has a heavy duty Acme brand metal double zipper down the front and a snap tab closure at the neck. It has a narrow stand-up collar and zip-up pockets at the chest and on either side, all with Acme metal zippers. The shoulders are slightly padded. The sleeves have zippers at the ends and there is a zipper at either bottom side. There is a wind flap behind the metal zipper and a double flap at the back shoulders. The jacket is fully lined in blue nylon.
Label: Brimaco Quality Workmanship British Mfg. Co. Ltd. Made in Canada
Sizing: There is no size label, but it should fit a small size, about a 32/34. Please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut and thickness of the leather into account:
Shoulders: 17” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 24 1/2”
Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2”
Chest: 38”-39” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 34” around
Bottom: 36” around
Length: 24 1/2”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - there is a slight whitish appearance to the upper left front, probably old wax, really minor. I would just have this cleaned and waxed by a leather specialist and it should look great. Otherwise, there is no other wear, tear, stains or odours, the leather has good gloss and this looks to have seen little use and has been very well cared for and stored.
This is an excellent quality leather café racer jacket - hard to find in the condition, nice acquisition if it fits!
