This is a green velour felt ladies’ hat made in a bucket form.  The hat probably dates to the early 1960s, but might date to the late 50s.  It has a tall squared crown with downward sloping brim, wider at the front than at the back.  The crown is wrapped in a grosgrain ribbon that is made into a bow at the front - the inside of the ribbon is lighter than the outside, so the bow appears lighter green in color.  The opening measures 20 1/2” around the grosgrain sweatband at the bottom interior crown, but this is supposed to fit on the top of the head, so this should fit a range of sizes small to medium.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or soiling - this has been very well cared for over the years.

 

This is a fun hat in an attractive tone of green - great hat for St. Patrick’s Day!
