Vintage 1940s 50s Hazel-Atlas Dancing Pink Elephants Cocktail Shaker

Vintage 1940s 50s Hazel-Atlas Dancing Pink Elephants Cocktail Shaker

$95.00

This vintage cocktail shaker was produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company and features the well-known “Dancing Pink Elephants” novelty decoration, showing playful elephants dancing among scattered stars around the body of the glass. The whimsical design reflects the light-hearted cocktail culture that emerged in the United States after the repeal of Prohibition and remained popular through the late 1930s and 1940s.

The shaker is made of clear glass with a pink enamel decoration consisting of several cartoon-style elephants in different poses, surrounded by small stars and a pink band just below the rim. The shaker is fitted with a metal lid and cap - no screen strainer under the cap. The lid appears to be a replacement, as many shakers of this type originally came with lids that were frequently lost or replaced over time. The current lid fits securely and functions well.

Pieces featuring the “Pink Elephants” motif are among the more recognizable novelty barware decorations produced by Hazel-Atlas and remain popular with collectors of vintage cocktail culture and retro bar accessories.
