Noritake The Ginza – Brilliant Four Seasons Plate Bone China Japan 10 5/8”

This The Ginza – Brilliant Four Seasons plate is a decorative bone china plate by Noritake, produced in Japan between 2010 and 2019.  The front features an elegant asymmetrical floral design in vivid colours — red hibiscus, yellow bloom and purple blossoms — accented with sweeping gold and silver-toned lines and a fine red border with gilt rim.  Each season is in raised lettering along the gold rim.

The reverse bears the printed verse “Brilliant Four Seasons” and the Noritake Bone China backstamp, marked Japan, pattern number 4559 and with a poem that reads:  

“The wind, gentle breeze, caresses you in springtime.

The sun, burning light, pours eternal life into you in summer.

The rain, water of life, embraces you in autumn.

The snow, downy white mantle, softly covers you in winter.

I should be each, the wind, the sun, the rain, the snow. I would be all.

Thus could I be with you, forever. My one true desire.”

Condition: In very good condition. Light surface wear to the gold consistent with age and careful display (see last close-up photo). In general, gilt remains strong. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
