Hocking Mayfair Pink Depression Glass Sweetpea Vase Open Rose Pattern

$125.00

This is a hard to find Mayfair pink depression glass sweetpea vase, made by the Hocking Glass Co. between 1931 and 1937.  There is no other similarly shaped vase made in any other depression glass pattern.  It flares up from its cylindrical bottom to a rim that flares out, almost like a hat brim, except that it is crimped to have a ruffled appearance - in order to achieve this the rim had to be crimped by hand, unusual for what was mass produced glass.  As a consequence, the top diameter can vary from piece to piece, usually anywhere between 8” and 8 1/2”.  This vase has a top diameter of 8 3/8” and measures 5 1/2” in height.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or wear.  This Mayfair pink depression glass sweetpea vase is a wonderful addition to a collection, or simply as a very pretty display piece!
