Art Deco Davidson Purple Cloud Glass No 10 Grid Flower Frog for 1910 Suite Posy Bowl
This is a hard to find piece of art deco cloud glass made by the George Davidson Co. of England. It is known as Davidson’s number 10 Grid flower frog and consists of wisps of purple in clear glass. The grid is meant to fit on the 1910 Suite 5” diameter posy bowl. The grid is marked “4 1/4” in the glass on the edge and it measures 4 1/4” in diameter across its top and 3 /3/4” across its underside. It was made from 1935 until possibly 1960.
Condition: It in very good condition except for two chips - one to the underside base edge (second to last close-up photo) and another to the top edge (last close-up photo). Both chips are fairly small and should be tolerated given the rarity of this piece.
This is a must-have for someone who own the matching posy bowl. Wonderful colour and form that could be used with any vase or bowl that it would fit…..
