This is a lovely antique cotton nightgown featuring a touch of embroidery and cutwork under the scallop edged sweetheart neckline. The piece is sleeveless and does up at each shoulder with a thread covered button (see last close-up photo). Otherwise, the piece is simple in construction, cut with a flare to the hemline. There are no openings other than the top and bottom so this would have to slip over your head.
