Antique Bohemian Art Glass Vase Cranberry with Gilt & Enamel Decoration c. 1885–1905
This is an antique Bohemian art glass vase dating to the late 19th century, likely produced in northern Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) and decorated in a specialist enamel workshop using a blank from one of the known glass makers (i.e. Harrach).
The vase is made of cranberry (ruby) glass with a satin ground and elaborate gilt panel decoration. It features raised enamel work in turquoise, white, pink, and gold forms stylized floral and foliate motifs, including large central leaves framed within gilded reserves. The rim is bordered with hand-applied enamel beading and scrolling gilt ornament.
The form gently tapers at the waist and flares slightly at the mouth. The pontil has been polished smooth.
Unmarked, as is typical of many Bohemian export pieces of this period.
