1987 Shenango China Gold Laurel Presentation Plate Corporate Logo Charger 10.75″
This is a scarce Shenango China gold laurel presentation plate, produced in the first half of 1987 as indicated by the factory date code Q-45. The plate features Shenango’s corporate Native American logo — shown kneeling and holding a pottery vessel — prominently rendered in gold at the centre, encircled by a laurel wreath border.
This design does not correspond to any known retail or hotelware pattern. The enlarged use of the factory logo on the face of the plate, combined with the laurel motif and extensive gold finish, strongly suggests non-catalogued production, likely for corporate presentation, executive use, internal recognition, or commemorative purposes during Shenango’s later operating years.
Such plates were typically produced in very limited quantities and were not offered to the general public, which accounts for the absence of comparable examples.

Shenango collectors may have a better idea of the origin of this plate, but, in any case, I’m sure that this Shenango China gold laurel presentation plate would be of interest given its apparent scarcity….
