This is an original late 1950s Stetson Royal De Luxe narrow-brim fedora in black velour-finish fur felt. The lining is stamped “Royal Stetson De Luxe,” and the sweatband is gold-stamped “Royal De Luxe Stetson,” consistent with Stetson production from approximately 1955 to the early 1960s.

The Royal De Luxe designation was positioned above the standard Royal grade within the Stetson hierarchy of the period. The velour-finish fur felt has a soft, plush surface and remains supple and pliable. With its 1 3/4" brim and moderate crown height, this hat reflects the slimmer silhouette that emerged in the late 1950s, often described as trilby-influenced styling, though structurally it is a narrow-brim fedora.
