This is an original folder containing 1926 Paris fashion sketches / plates, titled Les Croquis de Paris (No. 60), published by A. Podselver, Paris, for the Summer 1926 season. The set includes 19 full-colour fashion plates (one missing from the original suite of 20 — models 15 and 16 are absent) along with 8 additional black-and-white sketches printed on the interior of the folded 2 page description sheet.  On the back of the folder is an address to which one could write to receive a sewing pattern for any of the sketches.

The plates depict 1926 women’s fashion designs including day dresses, ensembles, coats, suits, and tailored costumes typical of Art Deco Parisian couture. Each design is accompanied by a small back view sketch printed at the lower margin.

The prints are housed in the original publisher’s folder.

Condition: These 1926 Paris fashion sketches are In very good condition with minor edge toning and a few small marks on a couple of plates, really minor. The folder, however, has edge wear and tear and some discolouration along the spine and bottom edge. Colours on the plates remain strong.

A detailed reference source for early Parisian ready-to-wear and couture design of the mid-1920s, suitable for collectors of Art Deco fashion, illustrators, textile historians, and designers.
