Vintage 1980s Ladies Coat Holt Renfrew Overcoat Wool Blend M

This is a beautifully styled vintage 1980s ladies coat made in Canada for Holt Renfrew by Hannah Ladies Wear of Toronto.  This 1980s ladies coat is made with a faux fur covered notched lapel, slightly padded shoulders, long sleeves with faux fur covered turned cuffs, a four button double breasted front, flared body and with a slash pocket built into either side.  The back of this 1980s ladies coat has box pleats down its length with a decorative two button belt at the waist.  The coat is cut with a flare from the waist to the hemline and is fully lined in a cotton backed satin acetate.

Colour:  Black with grey trim

Label: Holt Renfrew.  Holt Renfrew is a Canadian department store chain that sells only designer, quality private label and luxury goods.

Maker:  Content label has a Canadian Textile Identification number of CA00310, which belongs to Hannah Ladies Wear of Toronto.

Fabric label:  45% virgin wool 20% virgin lambs wool 20% nylon 15% cashmere / Lining 100% acetate / Interlining 100% cotton.

Union stamp:  The content label on this 1970s ladies coat is printed with the Canadian ILGWU label used between 1968 and 1984

Sizing: The size label reads 8, and although this 1970s ladies coat should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  17 1/2” across between shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves:  25” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17 1/2”

Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 36” around, uncinched

Hips:  45”

Hemline:  106” around

Overall length: 50”, taken at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This 1980s ladies coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or stains but has a couple of minor issues.  The first is a missing button at the upper left - you have the option of finding a match, replacing all four or leaving as is.  The second is an open seam to the lining at the waist, but this is really nothing, and a minor repair for a seamstress.  Otherwise, the label is a little soiled and although very acceptable as is, this 1980s ladies coat would benefit from a dry cleaning.
