$350.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a late 1930s ladies wool coat made of brown twill wool with tan coloured thin vertical double pinstripes.  This 1930s ladies wool coat has a squared collar and closes with five buttons down the front.  The sleeves are gathered into a puff at the top, typical of late 1930s style..  The coat is fully lined in brown satin and has a leather chamois interlining across the back for extra protection against wind.  This 1930s ladies wool coat is surprisingly heavy, definitely designed for cold weather wear.

Label: No label on this 1930s winter coat

Sizing:  There is no size label on this 1930s ladies wool coat and although this should fit a small to medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric and style of this coat into account:

Shoulders: 14” across the top from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam, however, your shoulder cap would fit into the sleeve top, so actual width would be wider.

Sleeves: 23” long from shoulder/sleeve seam - note that ladies wore gloves in those day, hence the shorter sleeve

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2”

Bust: 38” around

Waist: 40” around

Hips: 44” around

Overall Length: 41”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This 1930s ladies wool coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour.  This has been well stored over the last 85 or so years.

This is a rather hard to find example of a 1930s ladies wool coat as pieces of this age and type are getting very difficult to find - beautiful tailoring, nice quality!
