This is an exceptional quality pair of peccary leather gloves made in France by Gants Poujade of Millau. There are only a few glove makers in the world still offering peccary, one being Poujade and another being Dents in England. The gloves are in excellent condition and look unused, still retained in their original plastic bag. Peccary leather comes from a type of wild pig native to Central and South America - note the distinctive series of three hair follicle holes. Its leather is valuable and prized for its suppleness and durability - it is also known for developing an attractive patina over time. These peccary leather gloves are sized as a 6 3/4 (women’s small). but please note the following measurements. They have a length of 8 3/4” to the middle finger. They measure 3 1/8” across the palm - these would have to be “worked in” to stretch. The middle finger measures 3 1/8” in length. I believe that these peccary leather gloves date to the 1960s.
