This is a vintage cowichan or sweater jacket made by Kraven Knitting of Stratford, Ontario, under their Mister K brand name. This vintage cowichan is made in grey and charcoal grey with white stripes and intarsia depictions of pheasants in tones of yellow, red, green and black. The sweater has a high set shawl collar that does up around the neck with a button and loop. The sweater closes with a Lightning metal zipper. It is unlined. These types of vintage cowichan sweaters are generically named after a British Columbia native tribe called the Salish who live in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island on whose designs they are based. Cowichan sweater are also referred to as curling sweaters in Canada.
Label: Mister K Kraven Knitting Ltd. Stratford. Kraven Knitting was established in 1966 by Nathan Kraven, who had been the manager of Olympic Knit and Sportswear, taking over the same facility. He moved the company in 1968 and I don’t believe continued in business past 1971.
Sizing: Size 42-L-44 is indicated on this vintage cowichan sweater, and although this is a mens large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, noting the stretch of the knit:

Sleeves: 26 1/2” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

This is a great looking 1960s vintage cowichan sweater - very much like a Mary Maxim, but factory manufactured!
