Vintage 1970s Mens Jacket Suede Leather Sport Coat Size M
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a 1970s vintage men’s jacket / sport coat made in a beautiful quality suede leather. The label has been snipped out, but the construction and quality of the piece is almost for sure Italian - I’ve had other 70s era Italian men’s suede coats, and this is similar in construction and quality, commensurate with a high end manufacturer. The suede leather is trimmed with tanned brown leather at the collar, elbows, sleeve edges, buttonholes and pockets, very sharp. The jacket has 70s style notched lapels, two button front, double pocket at the right and single flapped pocket at the left. The back bottom has a 12” centreed vent. The jacket is fully lined in satin fabric.
Sizing: Size 38 is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurement with a similar jacket that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):
Shoulders: 17” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 25” from the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam: 17”
Chest: 41” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 37” around
Overall length: 29”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no stains, odors, wear or tears except for discolouration to the lining (see last close-up photo) and I saw one tiny wear spot to the leather around the top buttonhole, really nothing, and covered by the button in any case - mentioned only in the interest of full disclosure. This jacket looks to have seen very little use and has been well cared for over the years.
This would have been considered the height of suave during the 70s - still striking, and of super quality, really, a new jacket like this today would cost a small fortune!
