This is a wonderful vintage 1970s brown tuxedo, dated March 3rd 1976 on the tailor’s label.  The jacket is made in a wool fabric with padded shoulders, wide brown satin peaked lapels, brown velvet collar, flapped side pockets, chest pocket, single link button closure and with two buttons at either cuff.  The lapels are laced in brown rickrack.  It is lined in an ornate patterned copper coloured fabric.  There is a silk satin stripe down either leg of the pants.  The pants to this vintage 1970s brown tuxedo have a flat panel front, nylon zipper fly, a pocket built into either side and two waist size adjustment tabs.   The leg flares at the cuff.

Sizing: There is no size tag, and although this vintage 1970s brown tuxedo should fit a medium size short (US size 40), please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 17 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam 

Sleeves: 23 1/2” from shoulder seam (extra 2 1/4” inside cuff)

Sleeve Inseam: 15 1/2”

Chest: 44” around 

Waist: 40”

Overall length: 30“

Pants:

Waist: 33”

Leg Inseam: 29 1/2” long - there is 2 1/2” of fabric inside the hem

Overall length: 38“

Condition: This vintage 1970s brown tuxedo is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours. It looks like it saw very little use.  

This is a wonderful vintage 1970s brown tuxedo - perfect 1976 style!
