Yohji Yamamoto Borsalino Trilby Fedora Hat Water Repellent Rabbit Fur Felt 7 5/8

This is a pre-owned mens hat made in a trilby or narrow brim fedora style by Borsalino of Italy for Japanese avant garde designer Yohji Yamamoto.  The hat is made in a black water repellent 100% angora rabbit fur felt.  The crown is stiff, not pliable like typical fur felt - I assume that it has to be like this in order to both be water repellent and maintain its shape.  The hat is stamped on the lining with “Rain Proof Line Borsalino ® 1857 Alessandria Made in Italy Water Repellent Fur Felt For Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme”.  A cloth label affixed to the sweatband reads “Yohji Yamamoto Costume d’Homme”.  The leather sweatband is also gold stamped “Boraslino Marca Depositata Made in Italy”.  The foil label states a US size 7 5/8.  It measures 23 1/2” around the sweatband and 6 7/8” by 8 3/8” across the opening.  The brim measures 1 1/2” in width at the front, less at the sides and back and the crown has a height of 4 7/8”.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear but does have some waviness to the sweatband and would benefit from a professional cleaning although it is very wearable as it is.  This is a nice quality hat by Borsalino for Yamamoto, who himself is a big fan of Borsalino hats, wearing them himself - hard to find water repellent fur felt by Yohji Yamamoto!
