This is a rare antique sewing pattern published by “La Revue de la Mode Gorcy”, a Montreal, Quebec magazine published between 1906 and 1919.  The pattern is for a ladies’ kimono and can be dated to 1919 due to the inclusion of an advertising flyer for “La Broderie Pratique de Paris”, which was another publication by Emile Gorcy that was published only from December 1918 until November 1919.  Also included in the envelope is an advertisement for the Dechaux Freres, a dyer and cleaner that was located at 661 Montcalm street in Montreal.  The contents appear to be complete - all of the other patterns from the same lady have been complete, but I must admit that I find this one difficult to figure out.  The instructions are on the envelope and everything is in French, except for stamped identification on the pattern pieces, which are bilingual French/English.  The envelope has some edge wear/tear, but the contents are in very good condition.  It is identified as a size 40 bust, but my understanding is that you can make sizes other than what is specified on the pattern using a certain procedure for alteration.  Please check my other listings for other patterns - this is a great pattern for someone interested in French Canadian history or someone just wanting to make a period Kimono!
