This is a vintage cocktail dress dating to the late 1950s. This cocktail dress is sleeveless, has a scoop neckline and has a dropped waist ruched skirt. It is cut to accentuate the body. The dress closes with a metal zipper at the back. The dress is made in a to the knee length.
Age: late 1950s / possibly early 60s
Label: Burton’s Raleigh Fayetteville. Has the original owner’s name on a label that could be removed
Color: Black
Material: No content label, but probably a rayon taffeta
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a small size - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 32”-33” around, taken under the arm openings
Waist: 25” around
Hips: 36”
Overall length: 39“, measured flat
Condition: This cocktail dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors, but it needs a proper pressing - I’m not sure as to how one would press the ruched skirt. It looks like this it saw little use and was very well kept over the years.
This is a cute cocktail dress - with a bit of TLC, would be a wonderful piece for going out!
