This is a mens vintage 1970s plaid jacket made in a style similar to that worn by Herb Tarlek, the salesman for WKRP in Cincinnati, the television show.  This 1970s plaid jacket is made with wide notched lapels and a two button closure. The shoulders are padded and there is a patch pocket on either side as well as a button down cutaway flapped chest pocket.   The sleeves have three button split cuffs.  The back has a faux belt across the waist and a 12 1/2” long bottom centre vent.  This 1970s plaid jacket is half lined in a pinkish acetate fabric.

Colour:  Orange, grey and black

Label:  None, but definitely manufactured

Content label: None, but this is some sort of wool or blended wool woven fabric.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1970s plaid jacket, and although this should fit a medium size, probably a US size 40, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Shoulders: 19” across shoulder seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 24 1/2” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/4” long

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms (size is usually 3”-4” less than chest measurement)

Waist: 40” around

Overall length: 31“, measured at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1970s plaid jacket is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odour except for small tears to the corner opening of each of the interior pockets, very minor (see last close-up photo) - otherwise, it looks to have seen little use and was well kept over the years.

This is a wonderful example of a 1970s plaid jacket - striking orange colour!
