This is a vintage 1970s brown wool coat (possibly early 80s) made by Montreal manufacturer Auckie Sanft for Holt Renfrew - Holt Renfrew is known for selling primarily luxury brands and high end fashion, read further below for more about Auckie Sanft.  This 1970s brown wool coat has a high neckline with no collar, an eight button double breasted closure, half-belted cuffs and a large patch pocket at either side with a horizontal opening.  This 1970s brown wool coat is fully lined in brown viscose satin fabric.  The lining is backed with an interlining for extra protection against cold temperatures.

Content label:  100% wool.  Made in Canada CA00715.  CA00715 is the Canadian Textile identification number for Auckie Sanft, which was an influential player in Canadian fashion history.  Founded in 1935, they championed important Canadian designers, launching lines for John Warden, Jean-Claude Poitras and Michel Robichaud.

Sizing: There is no size label on this 1970s brown wool coat, and although this should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please take the style of the coat and thickness of the fabric into consideration):

Sleeve inseam: 15”

Bust: 47” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  47” around

Hips:  47” around

Overall length: 46", measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1970s brown wool coat is in very good condition with no wear, tear, holes, stains or odour - it looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years. . 

This is a very classy looking 1970s brown wool coat, excellent quality - obviously well designed, as one would expect from Auckie Sanft and sold by Holt Renfrew!
