This is a vintage 1940s necktie featuring a wonderful hand painted design that looks to me somewhat like a stained glass window.  The painting is in tones of maroon, orange and grey on a twill fabric, possibly silk, maybe rayon.  The back of this vintage 1940s necktie reads “Hand Painted” and the label reads “Faite a la main Tulipe Hand Made Tie”.  In the past I’ve had 1940s dressing gowns made by Tulipe and they were all really wonderful, and of obvious quality.  This vintage 1940s necktie is in very good condition - there are some orangey lines in the orange background and a maroon smudge in the upper grey area, but I’m certain that this is original to the painting of the tie as even the central motif has maroon colour that goes outside the lines.  Otherwise, the clean is clean with no noted soiling or staining.  The tie measures 54 1/2” in length and has a width of 4 5/8” at its widest. 

This is a fabulous and unique hand painted vintage 1940s necktie - sure to be noticed!
