Antique W.H. Grindley Celtic Flow Blue Dessert Plate 7” c.1897
Add a beautiful example of late Victorian English flow blue pottery to your collection with this antique W.H. Grindley Celtic"dessert plate. Decorated in rich cobalt blue transferware with softly blurred flow blue effects and highlighted by traces of original gilt trim, the pattern combines flowing foliate motifs with an elegant textured border and central medallion.
The underside bears the W.H. Grindley globe backstamp and a patent mark reading "Patented Oct. 19th, 1897 U.S.A.", helping to date the design to the turn of the twentieth century. The Celtic pattern remains one of Grindley's most attractive flow blue designs, prized by collectors for its striking colour and decorative Victorian styling.
This plate is ideal for display, cabinet collections, flow blue groupings, or use as a serving, luncheon, or dessert plate. It is part of a large service in the Celtic pattern recently acquired - please check my other listings for any pieces that are still available
