Antique W.H. Grindley Celtic Flow Blue Cup and Saucer Set c.1897
This antique cup and saucer set was produced by W.H. Grindley & Co. of England in the elegant “Celtic” flow blue pattern. Dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era, the set features richly flowing cobalt blue decoration with hand-applied gilt accents along the scalloped rims and ornate handle.
The “Celtic” pattern combines flowing foliate motifs with textured border detailing and softly blurred cobalt transferwork characteristic of classic English flow blue pottery. The cup interior features an additional decorative motif near the rim, adding refinement to the overall design.
The underside bears the W.H. Grindley globe backstamp associated with production around the turn of the 20th century.
I presently have six excellent sets available with another two that have small chips to the underside edge of the saucer. Please enquire about the damaged sets as I can discount them.
These cups are part of a large service in the Celtic pattern recently acquired - please check my other listings for any pieces that are still available
