Vintage Saint Clair Paris Skirt Red Wool Midi Sz L

Vintage Saint Clair Paris Skirt Red Wool Size L

$120.00

This is a well-made vintage Saint Clair Paris skirt, dating to the late 1970s to early 1980s, made in France from 100% wool in a rich brick red tone. The skirt is cut in a long length with a softly structured box pleat at the front, allowing the fabric to fall in loose, elegant lines.

The waistband is fully elasticized for comfort, combined with a self fabric belt for adjustable fit and shaping. Practical details include side patch pockets with buttoned flaps, a functional design element often seen in French ready-to-wear at the transition between the 1970s and early 1980s.

Founded in the early 1960s by Jean Saint-Clair, the Saint Clair label was part of the pioneering generation that helped define modern French prêt-à-porter. Emerging alongside contemporaries such as Jean Cacharel and Daniel Hechter, Saint Clair grew from a small atelier into an internationally distributed fashion house, with licensed production in Europe, North America, and Asia. The brand became particularly known for its well-constructed, wearable designs produced in fine natural materials.

The wool has a smooth twill finish with a soft drape, making this skirt suitable for both everyday wear and more tailored styling.
