Vintage Rosenthal Porcelain Figurine Kunstabteilung Cherub w Goat M.H. Fritz

Vintage Rosenthal Porcelain Figurine Kunstabteilung Cherub w Goat M.H. Fritz

$375.00

This is a lovely quality vintage Rosenthal porcelain figurine made by the specialty art department of Rosenthal of Selb, Bavaria, Germany.   The underside is marked with “Rosenthal Kunstabteilung Selb Handgemalt”.  Kunstabteilung means “art department” in German and Handgemalt means “Hand made”.  The underside is also impressed with the numbers “1283” (lightly impressed) and “11”.  The dating according to the particular configuration of the dots on this mark is unclear, but this dates to the 1930s, possibly when this was first modelled by M.H. Fritz, only because of the appearance of the facial detailing and glaze on this example.  The piece is made in the form of a cherub dancing with a young goat.  The attention to detail and glaze are very nice on this piece - note the facial detailing on both the cherub and goat.  The piece measures 8 1/4” in height.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or wear.  This vintage Rosenthal porcelain figurine is a wonderful quality piece of art in its own right - a beautiful addition to a collection!
