This is a vintage ribbed cable knit sweater made by Ralph Lauren under the early Polo Sporting Goods label.  This is not an often seen label - it reads “Polo Sporting Goods by Ralph Lauren Copyright 1991/Est/d 1967 Quality Athletic Clothing L”.  The sweater is made in dark green and grey horizontal bands. The content label reads 100% cotton and the size label reads L for large. The manufacturing label states “Made in Hong Kong” - I believe that this sweater, with the early label, dates to about 1992. The sweater is in very good condition - no pulls, stains and is clean. 

Sizing:  The label reads L for large, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 22” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 27 1/2” long with the cuff unturned, 24” long with the cuff turned

Sleeve Inseam: 19” long

Chest: 48”, taken under the arms

Bottom: 32” around unstretched, stretches out to 42”

Overall length: 27“, measured flat

Nice bulky knit, doesn’t look or feel like a typical cotton sweater - great Ralph Lauren look!
