This is a wonderful vintage store point of sales product display case advertising “Paris Garters”.  Paris Garters were used to hold up mens socks, I guess at a time when elastic top socks were yet to be used.  The motto at the bottom reads “No Metal Can Touch You”.  The piece is made of wood with a glass front and applied decal text.  The interior has slats of cardboard onto which the garters would be affixed and displayed.  The piece measures 8 1/4” wide by 8 1/4” high by 5 3/8” deep.  It weighs 1 lb and 12 oz.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear or tear.  I would think that this piece dates to the 1920s-30s era.

This is a wonderful old advertising piece - great acquisition for the sock or advertising collector!
