Vintage Nancy Drew Book The Hidden Staircase 1946 Edition

This is a vintage Nancy Drew book titled The Hidden Staircase published by Grosset & Dunlap during early 1946. The book was written by Carolyn Keene and originally published in 1930, the second in the Nancy Drew series. It has a dark blue cloth hardcover printed with orange silhouette and text, orange silhouette endpapers and a plain paper frontispiece - this combination of dark blue cover and the other aspects was only produced during early 1946. It is in very good condition - the book itself is very clean inside with no pronounced page defects, but the top spine of the cover is worn down for some reason, otherwise also very clean. The front endpaper is signed in ink by the original owner. The dustcover, however, has a bit of edge tearing and some residue at the front open edge, otherwise, I would have graded the book as near fine. Please note that due to scarcity of materials during the war, even in early 1946, the quality of the paper was thinner and inferior, so has taken on a patina. Still, this is not a common book - great addition to a Nancy Drew collection!
