Vintage Nancy Drew Book The Ghost of Blackwood Hall 1st Edition 1st Printing

This is a vintage Nancy Drew book titled The Ghost of Blackwood Hall published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1948. The book was written by Mildred Wirt Benson under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. This was the 25th book in the Nancy Drew series and this example is a first edition, first printing. It has a blue cloth hardcover printed with dark blue silhouette to the right, black silhouette endpapers and a plain paper frontispiece. The DJ has the Vicki Barr ad back, Connie Blair Mystery on the back flap in black only and Nancy Drew ad on the front flap. It is in good condition - the book itself is very clean inside with no pronounced page defects, but the cover has some slight soiling with a bit of bowing to the front cover corners. The front endpaper is signed in ink by the original owners. The dustcover, however, has edge tearing and creasing, otherwise, I would have graded the book as very good. Please note that due to scarcity of materials during the war, even in early 1948, the quality of the paper was thinner and inferior, so has taken on a patina. Still, this is not a common book - great addition to a Nancy Drew collection!
